My 5th graders got excited seeing the set, thinking a magic show was about to happen. Toby was certainly magical but in another way. He showed the great power in releasing your quirkiness. Silly Adventures grants permission to be different. My classroom has been noticeably different following Toby's  show.

A K–5 Assembly Supporting SEL, School Climate, and Student Confidence

Silly Adventures is a high-energy, interactive assembly that directly supports elementary Social-Emotional Learning goals while delivering a powerful message about self-acceptance and personal confidence.

Through storytelling, physical comedy, audience participation, and age-appropriate humor, Toby shares his personal journey of growing up feeling “weird” — and how those very differences became the foundation of a successful 40-year professional career.

Students laugh. But more importantly, they internalize this message:

Your differences are not weaknesses. They are strengths in development.

Standards & Outcomes Alignment (K–5)

Supports Core SEL Competencies:

  • Self-Awareness – Students recognize their unique traits and strengths.

  • Self-Management – Encourages confidence and resilience when facing social challenges.

  • Social Awareness – Builds empathy and acceptance of differences.

  • Relationship Skills – Promotes kindness and inclusion.

  • Responsible Decision-Making – Reinforces positive identity choices.

(Aligns with CASEL framework and most state SEL standards.)

Observable Outcomes for Schools

After the program, schools report:

  • Increased conversations about kindness and inclusion

  • Students referencing the message in classrooms

  • Reinforcement of anti-bullying initiatives

  • Stronger language around growth mindset

  • A shared school-wide vocabulary around being yourself

Why This Matters in K–5

Elementary years are when students:

  • Begin comparing themselves socially

  • Internalize labels

  • Decide whether they will shrink or stand confidently

Silly Adventures meets students at this critical stage and models:

  • Healthy self-acceptance

  • Courage to stand out

  • Respect for differences

All delivered in a way that is developmentally appropriate and highly engaging for K–5 learners.
